Weddings are some of my favorite events to attend. Being from such a big family there’s almost always at least 2 or 3 that we have on our schedule each year. One of my favorite parts of weddings is seeing everyone all dressed up in their best attire. One of my cousins got married this past weekend and I was so excited to get all dressed up for the first time in what had felt like forever.
I had several options for outfits but ended up deciding on this navy-blue dress from Dilly’s Flower Studio, a small boutique right in my hometown. Right when I tried it on, I knew this is what I wanted to wear. I love the smocked top and the ruffle detail around the neck and waist. And the statement sleeves are probably my favorite part. They add just enough fun and flare, while still keeping the dress very classy.
While I was looking around Dilly’s I was drawn to the jewelry section…she has so many cute options (and I believe just got a shipment of new items!) I found these white heart earrings and thought they would be perfect to wear with the dress. (I’m a sucker for big earrings and knew I just had to have them!) They’re so fun and extremely light, which is always nice if you’re going to be wearing them at an all-day event like a wedding.
For shoes I wanted to keep it simple, so I pulled out my trusty nude heels that I’ve had for a couple years now…still just as comfy as ever. You can find a pair like this in most stores, but these specific ones are from Target, so they were very budget friendly.
I really wanted to do my hair in some way that would show off the earrings and sleeves of the dress. Originally, I had planned to put it in a low pony with a few front pieces left out, which was really cute when I tried the dress on at first. But of course, I was running late like always and didn’t have time to do this, so I ended up just pinning the front pieces of my hair back. It actually turned out way better than I expected and still showed off the sleeves of the dress and the earrings really well.
Cody also did a great job picking out his outfit for the wedding. I didn’t even have to tell him what I was wearing, and we ended up coordinating our outfits perfectly! Pretty sure everything he has on is from Dillard’s, so if you have a man in your life that needs dress clothes I highly recommend checking there. We’ve always had good luck with their selection. They also have everything you would need – shirts, pants, shoes, belts, etc. – so it’s a one-stop-shop, which every guy likes to hear!
I absolutely love weddings and have a really big family, so this definitely won’t be the last wedding attire post! We actually have three more weddings throughout the summer, so keep checking back for more dress outfit inspo!
As always, I hope this post was helpful! Thanks for stopping by!
